Baume et Merciet (pronounced bomb-eh me-air-cyah) is a classic timepiece, rated highly by GQ as a classic timepiece and highly recommended as basically the "bottom" of the top tier of the elite manufacturers. Amazon has fantastic prices on it, and although you forgo the original 12 month manufacturers warranty, with Amazon it is authentic and they stand behind it with their own 2 year warranty, and it's well worth it to buy it here, in my opinion.
This particular model arrived in beautiful packaging with a gorgeous box and pillow, with three parts to the box. Very nice.
The clasp is definitely slightly more unusual than many other Breitling or other high-end watch straps, but easy to adjust and use. It took me a minute to figure it out, but when I did, it was easy to use... it looks like your typical "belt buckle" style on the outside, but has folded metal mechanisms inside that prevent the watch from falling off your wrist, for example, when trying to buckle...
